Davis, California, October 2, 2003 -- Allometra, LLC announces the completion of PyMood for the Mac OS X platform.

This solution enables researchers working in a Mac OS X environment to process genomic and expression data in an interactive and user-friendly environment.

PyMood is a desktop application for visualizing genomic data. It is used to analyze and display relations between complete genomes, genomic fragments, proteins, ESTs, full-length cDNAs, and virtually any sets of sequences. The program is also used to visualize and analyze expression data. The visualization principle in PyMood is coloring and positioning objects (genes, proteins, etc.) in space according to their data values. The 3D output in PyMood can be rotated, zoomed in and out, shifted, and queried. The produced outputs allow visual presentation of patterns in the database, so the user can form the queries based on observed patterns. The pattern and groups of genes can be easily retrieved using PyMood selection widgets. More information is available at www.allometra.com

PyMood is cross-platform and currently available for Windows 2000/XP, Mac OS X, and Linux.
